Friday Nite Social
"First Friday Night Social" is the next generation of an outreach program at Pebble Hill. We offer a safe place for kids from the church and the wider community, grades 8-12, to come to meet one another and have fun. The Friday Night Socials, dubbed the "Thang" by the participants, meets from 7:00-10:00 pm on the first Friday night of the month generally with a band. We charge a $2.00 admission to cover the cost of refreshments and other supplies.
Pebble Hill has developed this program out of concern that there are very few opportunities for the young people of our community to gather in a social context, particularly once they reach high school, apart from field parties or house parties that often involve alcohol, resulting in dangerous and sometimes deadly consequences. Beginning with middle school age young people, we hope that we can help provide a safe alternative and begin to instill some healthier patterns as our young people reach the age where social pressures mount.
