Children's Music (K-grade 5) - 11:00-12:00

Christian education is not just a matter of the "head" but also of the "heart." The development of our spiritual lives, our relationship to God in prayer, and living out our call as disciples of Jesus Christ in the world, are the content of our ministries to nurture growth in faith and in love among all our members, children through adult.

Christian Education for children grade 5 and under is held following the Children’s Sermon in our morning worship, and concludes at 10:45.  Following our coffee and fellowship time after worship, adult and youth classes are held from 11:00-12:00.  During this time the younger children have their music program.  A professional child care provider is available throughout the morning.

 Adult Education

There are currently two ongoing adult Christian education offerings: a Morning Forum class, which offers several different series during the year on issues of theological and social concern, and a Bible Discussion ClassNew Member Seminars are held at least twice each year for those who are interested in uniting with the congregation through membership.

Church School
For children in grades 1-5, we use the Workshop Rotation Model (WoRM) of Christian Education. Each week a different age group will visit a different location. At the end of three - four weeks the children will have experienced one thematic lesson in different environments, making it much easier for them to recall the message and even have that message become part of their lives. Workshop leaders have the privilege of doing one lesson 3-4 times in a setting that fits their particular giftedness and interest thus allowing for better familiarity with the story or project. Everyone can really have fun learning in this atmosphere! So can YOU!

Confirmation and Youth Class meets to discuss and join in activities based on the book “Way to Live: Christian Practices for Teens.”

Pebble Hill Youth Group (PHYG) meets twice a month for fellowship, faith enrichment, mission and out reach. We plan a mission trip each summer and help with a Christmas party for the South Presbyterian Church's After School Tutoring Program children. We are involved with fund raising for our mission trips and other organizations as needs arise. In the last couple of years are Mission trips have involved Rural Rehab with Ministries in the North Country (MINC), Heifer Project in Rutland MA, painting lodges at Camp Victory in Millville PA, Collecting school supplies for Church World Service Gift of the Heart Kits, and volunteering at the Church of the Brethren distribution center in Maryland.
