New Member Classes

At least twice per year, in the fall and in the spring, new member seminars are offered for those who are interested in becoming a member of the congregation. The seminars are generally held for 2-21/2 hours on a Sunday afternoon, followed by an informal supper gathering with our Session (governing board) and their spouses.

The new member seminars, led by the pastor, cover information about the Presbyterian Church, its history, governance, polity, and basic beliefs. We discuss our journeys of faith and what has brought people to this point of making a commitment to membership. We review the mission and the ministries of Pebble Hill Church, and talk about ways in which new members can become involved in the life of the church.

Membership is actually approved by the Session, with a public reception of new members during a Sunday morning worship service.

It is our goal to enable each member of the church both to serve and to be fed - to contribute to the life and growth of the church, and to grow spiritually in their walk with Christ.

If you are interested in exploring membership please contact either Rev. Shidemantle (446-0960), or our Coordinator of New Member Ministries, Nancy Byrne (682-7636).
